　　Mark: This old thing? I've had it for years.

　　Jingjing: I don't think I've seen it before.

　　京晶：我觉得以前没见你穿过呢。

　　Mark

　　Mark: Well, I'm kind of a clothes horse—at least I used to be.

　　马克：我差不多是个活衣柜（爱屯衣服的人），至少我过去是那样的。

　　Jingjing: Now you could go for a yearor more without buying any new clothes, right?

　　京晶：那现在你能一年多都不需要再买新衣服了吧？

　　Jingjing

　　Mark

　　Mark: Exactly. All I've bought in over a year were socks.

　　马克：没错。我这一年多买的差不多全是袜子。

　　Jingjing: Is it easy to find your size here in China?

　　京晶：你穿的尺码在中国好找吗？

　　Jingjing

　　Mark

　　Mark: I'm pretty sure they only make one or two sizes.

　　Jingjing: Not just for socks, silly! I meant, can you find sizes for shirts and trousers?

　　Mark: Oh, that's pretty easy. Some of my foreign friends have trouble, though.

　　Jingjing: What's the trouble?

　　Mark

　　Mark: Some of my friends are heavyset,or quite tall, or both big and tall.

　　马克：我有些朋友体格魁伟，或者太高，或者又高又大。

　　Jingjing: Big and tall folks should try the Silk Market.

　　Mark

　　Mark: That's what I keep hearing. I'll recommend it to them.

　　This old thing? I've had it for years.

　　(This is a common stock expression, which someone uses after being flattered about something they're wearing.)

　　clothes horse(someone who has a large collection of clothes)

　　原本指用来晾晒衣服的晾衣架；现在多喻指爱时髦，喜欢买很多衣服的人，可译为“活衣架”。有人说“女人的衣橱是永远塞不满的。”

　　go for (a year)持续……时间

　　(last for, i.e. I can go for three days without food.)

　　silly 傻的(shortened form of silly guy)

　　big and tall folks 高大魁梧的家伙

　　Mark: Well, they use small, medium, large and extra-large for most casual clothes.

　　Jingjing: That's the same as in China.

　　Mark

　　Mark: Yes, but you have to watch out. A medium in one brand can be as big as an extra-large in another.

　　Jingjing: I guess it makes sense to try stuff on first.

　　Mark: Definitely. I've gotten some pretty good deals on clothes that were labelled with the wrong size.

　　Jingjing: Hmm. Do they ever use exact measurements?

　　Mark: Suit jackets and blazers are measured by bust. That's done in inches. Actually, it's the same with trousers, for the waistandinseam.

　　Mark: A shoe salesperson will know the European sizes. It's best to use those, because American sizes are just slightly different from Chinese sizes. So, it's better to tell them 38, 40, 42, and so on.

　　Jingjing: Go by European sizes for shoes—got it. Hey, how about women's clothes?

　　Mark: Well, for something semi-formal or formal, there are numbered sizes, usually from 6-12.

　　Jingjing: I usually just try everything on before deciding.

　　Mark: I just eyeball it, and am usually right about the size, even when buying for other people.

　　（白色条纹）乐队于1997年成立于美国底特律，音乐风格主要是Grunge和Indie Rock，主唱/吉他/钢琴是Jack White（男），鼓手是Meg White（女）。乐队已发行六张正式专辑，2004年乐队曾获得两座格莱美奖。

　　The White Stripes因为他们曾经的集大成的疯狂举动和想法出名，他们的专辑除了吉他和鼓点，以及一些对白录音，还运用了墨西哥民谣、美国乡村、苏格兰小调以及吉普塞弗拉门哥，这种叠加融合创造了新时期摇滚混合理论的典范。这张专辑是他们加入华纳公司后出品的首张专辑，《Icky Thump》也是他们首支登上Billboard排行榜热门100里前40名的一支单曲。

　　《Elephant》那张专辑里的《Seven Nation Army》以及《Get Behind Me Satan》专辑里的《Blue Orchid》藐视名声和诱惑，《Icky Thump》也有一个话题：移民。《Icky Thump》、《Bone Broke》等还是可以让人感觉到那个渺视一切的白色条纹乐队。

　　另两个最出色的展现了杰克的写歌水平的也许是运用伟大哲学命题的《因果》（Effect & Cause）以及录制了Jack和Meg一段可爱的对话的《Ragand Bone》，回到了乐队早期的蓝调时代，展示了这对兄妹的精神漫游——“富丽堂皇的房子/小狗的房子/门外的房子/老伙伴的房子/未婚妈妈的房子……为祖母时代的电话寻找科技转换……”他们骄傲地树立了自己的音乐风格，并且“赚到一些钱”。从2001年的《WhiteBlood Cells》开始，他每两年推出一张新专辑。这一次杰克将黑色摇滚实验发挥到炉火纯青的地步，无论从听觉还是视觉上都不会亏待。

　　《YouDon' t Know What Love Is》也是一首反男性至上论的歌曲，比《Blue Orchid》更宏大、更缓慢，杰克加入更多车库元素，让这张专辑很容易变成他最大声的一张专辑。他们的声音总是伴随着你，而那些声音也代表了他们本身。
